Architectural concept and artistic devices:
The concept of the cafe 'Kulemet' interior design in Kharkov was based on its target audience. The establishment is located near educational institutions, and therefore most of the visitors will be students. After giving a thought to the issue, a space theme came to my mind that would never exhaust itself and is always associated with something new. At the same time, it allows creating new ideas and solutions, as each author treats them in his/her own way. Thus, the place visitor gets into the world of science fiction, where each element is unique and especially attractive. A space-shaped salad bar with a glass dome perfectly characterizes the topic. It was it that became the key composition point in the cafe design.
Here is the distribution line and the ticket office of a cylindrical shape. Visually, they resemble flying saucers, which undoubtedly make the atmosphere more 'space-like'. But this is not the only element in the concept. Thus, the starry heavens above the salad bar and the glass between the floors emphasize the topic of the establishment once again. And at the main entrance, the guests of the establishment enter the charming atmosphere of the space vast expanses. Here one can encounter a 'starry heavens', in the center of which a metal plate-like luminary is located in the form of a dome. Even the symbol of the cafe chain is a machine gun that by no means spoil the cafe design. Located on the wall near the stairs, it harmoniously fit into the overall concept due to materials used. The author's work is made of automobile disks, composite panels and is highlighted with LED dynamic illumination.
I decided stay strong in the pursuit of my goals, and in order to enhance the effect I supplemented the interior with aquariums with dynamic water movement. They are placed on both sides of the machine gun. Another interesting element in the cafe interior design was the columns, I decorated them with 'outer planets' boulders. The furniture, deserves a special attention; everything, except for the chairs, is the author's customized work . The basic color of the range is all shades of blue. But orange is chosen not for nothing, it is associated with positive and fun, besides it stimulates one's appetite. What it matters for the catering establishment, is understandable to everyone. Moreover, the color scheme suits perfectly for today's youth.
