Architectural concept and artistic devices:
The apartment in Kharkov was designed for two sisters, a girls of 18 and 20. The following task was set for the apartment zoning: to arrange an entrance, the sisters 2 rooms, a parlour with a kitchen and a dining area and 2 toilet facilities (the hostess and the guests').
Since the mistresses are at such an age when life is in full swing, everything is blooming around, and changes occur every day, the apartment design should render this state.
Bright contrasting combinations of colors, floral motifs and flowing lines are used the apartment design. The kitchen has a special color emphasis. Its rich terracotta-orange color sets the mood for the entire space. The gray-blue color of sofas and curtains is the original contrast to terracotta. An interesting artistic solution was the presence of frescoes depicting paintings by G. Klimt. The motifs of G. Klimt paintings are in perfect harmony with the graphic solution. Smooth, winding lines, color contrasts, an abundance of shades of orange, ocher and yellow in contrast to the cool shades of blue are guessed here.
Separately, I would like to mention the ceilings solution. They are original in each zone and in each room. The ceilings features are flamboyance of lines, smooth shapes located at different levels. A combination of stretch ceiling polish with plaster of paris matt paints renders even more depth and brilliance.
